Flight Simulator Scenery Modeling

Overview

Flight Simulators require real-world accurate scenery and aircraft to give users the best possible immersive experience. Using the powerful open-source 3D software Blender, I build virtual scenery and aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I have made scenery enhancements for many landmark areas around the United States for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator, posted free on the internet for other users to download. To date, my sceneries have over 40,000 downloads.

I’ve built accurate one-to-one models of famous buildings, airports, and landmarks from all around the world. Below is a selection of some of the scenery modeling work I’ve done.

My first big project was Washington D.C. I modeled the capitol, all of the Smithsonian museums on the mall, the White House, the Jefferson, Lincoln, Vietnam, MLK, and 9/11 Memorials, and the Arlington National Cemetery Amphitheater and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

A built-from-scratch model of New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Also part of this project, I built models of NYC’s George Washington, Verrazzano Narrows, Tappan-Zee, and other bridges

I wouldn’t be a real Boilermaker if I hadn’t also done the bell tower, would I?
